“These changes are necessary to ensure that the Kharkiv Metro uses as little electricity as possible. This is needed to maintain a balance so that the energy can be used by the public for their needs. We have adjusted the train schedules, so there are no issues during rush hour. Experts are analyzing passenger traffic and, if necessary, adjusting intervals to avoid inconveniences for city residents,” noted Ihor Terekhov.
The mayor added that there is currently no need to increase the number of surface public transport vehicles.
“When there is a large flow of passengers in the metro, we balance it with ground-based public transport. All of it is municipal, and travel on it is free,” emphasized the city’s leader.
